Description
Appearance & Aroma
Buds of this strain are small and densely packed, as one may expect of an Indica-dominant variety. The tight forest green leaves have flecks with hints of purple and red. These latter colours develop because of high concentrations of pigments called anthocyanins in this strain’s genes. As the plants are exposed to cooler than average temperatures during the growing process, these pigments are activated, creating colourful hues. The leaves are covered in almost transparent trichomes, which may be harder to catch than that milky or amber-coloured glands enveloping similarly resinous strains. Nevertheless, nugs of Blueberry are very sticky and may be challenging to break up by hand without using a grinder.
This strain’s bag appeal isn’t restricted to its eye-catching hues — when appropriately cured, the flowers immediately give off a smell of fresh blueberries. This sweet and slightly tart aroma bears some resemblance to the odour of the Purple Thai parent strain. Cracking open buds of Blueberry gives off some more complex smells of spice and musk, reminiscent of Afghani types. When buds are combusted, some skunkiness is obvious. The vapour is surprisingly smooth for an Indica and has a sweet blueberry taste on inhaling and exhaling with no lingering funk.
Effects & Benefits
Frequently described as a “one hit and quit” strain, Blueberry is notably strong, even for experienced cannabis enthusiasts. Users are quickly hit with a sense of physical heaviness that may disorient in situations requiring mobility or coordination. This physical feeling can translate into a therapeutic tranquillity in relaxed settings, letting users unwind after a long workday or week.
The Sativa genetics confer some mental effects, but these take the form of euphoric uplift more than cerebral thoughtfulness; smokers may feel giggly or chatty. Blueberry will leave users heavy and couch-locked in high enough doses — this is not an ideal choice for productivity and is better suited to tranquil evening use.
Medically speaking, Blueberry has almost narcotic effects. It is helpful to those with pain conditions — both short-term pain due to injury or training or long-term chronic pain related to disorder or nerve damage. It can also assist some of the troubling signs of stress, anxiety and PTSD, creating physical comfort strong enough to ease a racing, pre-occupied mind. Most notably, Blueberry can induce a night of deep and lasting sleep and serve as an antidote to entrenched insomnia. Side effects of this strain contain the usual dry mouth and red eyes. Its heaviness can also result in unfocused eyesight. As said, a little bit of Blueberry goes a long way, and its high is reported to last longer than average.

Chunky big buds backed by a good taste, for me this was a great day time bud. You can smoke and still get stuff done without being couched.

Big buds, dense flowers, great smell!

I got it on sale, provided a solid value to control nausea. It smelled more of citrus than of its purple cross.
