Pink Panties is a scandalously named strain with an ambiguous backstory. It is believed that it is a cross between a Burmese landrace strain and a Florida Kush plant that then backcrossed with an added Florida Kush plant. The Cookie Fam, a San Francisco-based club of breeders who claim responsibility for starting Girl Scout Cookies, also takes credit for the production of Pink Panties. Due to the high representation of landraces in this strain’s genetics — in addition to the Burmese Kush in its history, the parent strain Florida Kush is descended from none other than Hindu Kush. With its extensive genetics, Pink Panties is very potent and can be an exceptionally hardy grow.
Appearance & Aroma
The flowers of Pink Panties are medium to large in size and have a dense, solid bud structure typical of Indica types. The leaves that coil tightly around their central stems are a deep mossy green. Hairy pistils thread their way within the leaves and can range from light orange to a bright shade of pink, granting this strain its name. Specific phenotypes of Pink Panties also produce the occasional patch of purple in their leaves, resulting from anthocyanin pigments spurred by cold weather in the growing process. Milky-white trichomes embrace the flowers and make them resinous and hard to break up without a grinder.
When correctly cured, the nugs of Pink Panties release an aroma that blends the tang of grapefruit with fresh flowers. On closer examination, there are also some astringent tones of ammonia, possibly due to the influence of grandparent strain Chemdawg. Despite its intricate flavour profile, Pink Panties delivers an extraordinarily smooth smoke when combusted. It has a lightly herbal and citrus taste on the exhale; the overall impression is similar to a floral liqueur.
Effects & Benefits
Pink Panties provides a slow, gradual high that may take several minutes after users have finished smoking to feel its first effects. What begins as a moderate pressure around the eyes and temples may mount into drooping eyelids. A heaviness soon equals this heavy feeling in the limbs and core — a sensation that may lead smokers to seek comfort in the closest possible surroundings. The mental effects are subtle and might take the form of visual distortions or a freely associative sort of daydreaming. Such trippy effects can lay the foundation for a lazy afternoon of watching shows or listening to tunes. As time wears on or as the dose is increased, users may become contentedly couch-locked. Due to its predominantly sleepy vibes, Pink Panties is best utilized during the late afternoon or evening.
Medical cannabis consumers also find benefit in this strain’s robust but functional sedation. It can momentarily blunt the symptoms of anxiety, PTSD, and depression. It might also work on the body, soothing aches and pains, whether they’re short-term or chronic. In large enough doses, it can even counteract stubborn cases of insomnia. Because it does not often lead to recursive cerebral thinking or paranoia, the Pink Panties strain may be a good choice for users who are prone to panic or who have a low tolerance for THC.
Love me some pink. Helped me feel relaxed and put me right to sleep
Nose: The nose was piney and gassy with a hint of sweet fruitiness especially when I broke it up.
Stickiness/Moisture: It was a tiny bit dry, and it was not sticky.
Taste: It wasn’t super pungent, and the flavours were gassy and earthy and a bit piney.
Burn: The burn was ok. The ash was a bit salt and peppery, and it was a little bit harsh.
Potency/Effects: It had a good punch to it and a decent potency level for me. It didn’t take me out but there was a solid body buzz that eventually travelled its way up into my head. It would be good for evening time.
Overall score – 8.8/10
Really dense nugs. High trichome coverage and smooth exhale
